NYE New Orleans

Countdown to NOON

These special events are a great way for the entire family to countdown the new year at noon on December 31st instead of at midnight. This way the young children can have their “midnight celebration” before the big night.

Louisiana Children’s Museum

Start the “New Year” off with a fun day for the whole family at the Louisiana Children’s Museum located in New Orleans City Park complete with confetti, bubbles, DIY crafts, and more. Ticket prices are $14 for LCM Members and $24 for non-members.

Children’s Museum of St. Tammany

Children’s Museum of St. Tammany, located at 21404 Koop Drive, Mandeville, LA, is also counting down the Near Year at noon with a balloon release! General admission tickets start at $20.

Lynn Meadows Discovery Center

If you are up to a drive to Gulfport, Mississippi, then you should check out the NOON Year’s Countdown at Lynn Meadows Discovery Center. Enjoy a DJ playing live music, snacks, a New Year’s craft, falling confetti, and a ball drop at noon all included with museum admission on Saturday, December 30th from 10 am – 12 pm.

Fireworks on the Levee

Watch the fireworks over the Mississippi River at midnight from the Algiers Levee.

Catch a Parade

The Allstate Sugar Bowl Parade will be rolling through the French Quarter starting at 2:30 pm.  Starting at Elysian Fields Avenue and Decatur Street, will travel through the French Quarter up Decatur Street along the Mississippi River and wrap up on Canal Street. The parade will also be live broadcasted on WDSU Channel 6.

Jump into the New Year

SkyZONE New Orleans and SkyZONE Metairie are both open from 9 am – 8 pm.

Family Game Night

Bring family game night to a new level at Game On Social Hub with bowling, laser tag, and arcade games. Open from 10:30 am – 8 pm.

Watch the Saints

Faubourg Brewery is having a Saints watch party from 12-3:30 pm. The restaurant will be closed so bring your own food.

Jingle Jam

Celebrate the end of the Christmas season at JAMNOLA! Open 10 am – 4pm, JAMNOLA has decked its halls with larger-than-life Nutcrackers, Christmas trees, presents, and local music to keep you in the holiday spirit!

Go Bowling

AMF Bowling in Kenner is open from noon – 1 am with special packages to ring in the New Year

Catch a Movie

Catch a movie with the family at one of our many local cinemas. Buy your tickets before you leave the house on Fandango.

Home Sweet Home

Don’t want to venture out? Sometimes the best place to celebrate is at home! Make it a night to remember for children of all ages with a themed event in your PJs or play dress up. Create your own time frame by using on-demand countdowns with favorite characters or with different time zones.

  • Have a “mocktail” party with DIY tiaras, party favors, party hats, confetti eggs, noisemakers, and a photo booth. Top it off with a make-your-own dessert bar and a specialty “mocktail” for “champagne toast” and don’t forget the tunes or watch Dick Clark’s New Years Rockin’ Eve on TV and have a front-row seat to the ball drop in Times Square at the stroke of midnight
  • Have a Camp-in…Build a Fort, reminisce about the year by flashlight, make s’ mores, and create a touch & feel box.
  • Make it a Movie Night!!! Watch your favorite Christmas movies to prolong the holiday season!

Make a Time Capsule

No New Year’s Eve is complete without a TIME CAPSULE! Collect memorabilia and special items from the year, take photos, write down some resolutions, throw in some “what I am thankful for” notes, seal them up in a container of your choosing (I like mason jars), and decorate.
