One day on the way to Ft. Pickens we stumbled upon this adorable little beach park. We are always on the lookout for great attractions along the Gulf Coast that are perfect for kids. This is one we hadn’t seen before so we stopped to play for a bit on our way home.

Beach Park Location

The park is located at 1334-1336 Ft. Pickens Road on the bay side across the street from Pensacola Beach Park West.

Beach Park Features

The beach park has an adorable pirate ship play structure. The ship is perfect for toddlers to school agers. There are slides and places to climb all over the ship. The ground cover is of course sand. The play structure isn’t shaded but there are two covered pavillions next to it. The play area is open year round and there is no admission fee.  There is a small beach area on the bay in front of the play structure which is perfect for little ones and LOTS of sand to play in.

Parking is plentiful and there are bathrooms across Ft. Pickens Road at Pensacola Beach Park West.

The Escambia Bay Snorkel Reef Park West is close by and there is a place to launch your kayak or paddle board. Both great activities for tweens and teens.

What You Should Bring

While there are two pavilions, I suggest bringing your beach umbrella or tent for shade. You’ll also want to bring your sand toys for playing in the sand and collecting the shells that line the water. A life vest for little ones that aren’t strong swimmers wouldn’t be a bad idea. Also because the beach area and water is full of shells, I suggest water shoes. Don’t forget the sunscreen!
